Explorers Package - 9th or 10th Grade

Our Explorers Package is designed to help 9th or 10th-grade students start strong by laying a foundation for their high school journey and future college applications. This service is perfect for students who want to explore their academic and extracurricular interests, build skills, and develop a long-term plan for success.

What’s Included:

• Virtual Meetings:  Regular one-on-one meetings throughout the academic year, allowing students to start at any time to explore academic interests, extracurricular activities, and high school course selection.
• Academic and Extracurricular Planning: Guidance on choosing classes that align with college goals and identifying meaningful extracurricular activities and leadership opportunities.
• Introduction to College Readiness: Early discussions on the college landscape, including different types of schools, majors, and career paths.
• Study Skills and Time Management: Strategies to improve academic performance and balance extracurriculars with schoolwork.
• Preliminary College List: Introduction to the college search process with a sample list of potential schools to consider.
• Summer Program Exploration: Assistance in finding summer programs, internships, or volunteer opportunities that enhance college applications.
• Email and Phone Support: Access to email and phone support for quick questions and ongoing guidance throughout the academic year.
• Parent Meetings: Optional meetings with parents to discuss student progress, provide updates, and address any questions or concerns.
• CounselMore Access: All students will receive access to a CounselMore account for organization and tracking of important deadlines, documents, and communications throughout our work together. 

Junior Year Package - 11th Grade

Our Junior Year Package is tailored to support 11th-grade students through one of the most critical years of their high school experience. This comprehensive package prepares students for college applications while emphasizing academic excellence and self-discovery.

• Virtual Meetings: Regular one-on-one meetings throughout the academic year to discuss college readiness, application strategies, and personal development.
• Academic Planning: Review and optimize course selections to ensure they align with college goals and requirements.
• College Search Guidance: Develop a personalized college list based on student interests, strengths, and goals.
• Application Strategy: Discuss the college application process, including timelines, requirements, and effective strategies.
• Essays and Personal Statements: Guidance on crafting compelling essays and personal statements for college applications.

Senior Year Package - 12th Grade

The Senior Year Package offers comprehensive support for 12th-grade students navigating the college application process. This package provides targeted assistance to ensure students meet deadlines and submit strong applications to their chosen colleges.

What’s Included:

• Virtual Meetings: Regular meetings throughout the academic year, focusing on application completion and strategic decision-making.
• Final College List Refinement: Review and finalize the college list based on admissions criteria and student preferences.
• Application Review: In-depth review of college applications, ensuring all components are complete and compelling.
• Essay and Personal Statement Support: Personalized feedback on essays and personal statements to enhance quality and alignment with college values.
• Interview Preparation: Coaching for college interviews to help students present their best selves.
• Financial Aid Guidance: Overview of financial aid options and assistance with the FAFSA and CSS Profile, as well as support in the scholarship search.
• Email and Phone Support: Access to email and phone support for quick questions and ongoing guidance throughout the academic year.
• Parent Meetings: Regular meetings with parents to discuss student progress, application updates, and any concerns.
• CounselMore Access: All students will receive access to a CounselMore account for organization and tracking of important deadlines, documents, and communications throughout our work together.

In addition to individual academic year packages, we offer cohort-based services for students and families who would prefer a small group environment in a short-term format. These cohorts provide personalized attention, but with the added benefit of peer interaction and support. 

Each cohort is capped at a maximum of five students to ensure that every student receives individualized feedback and guidance.

• Junior Year College Prep Cohorts
  • Designed for 11th grade students to build a strong foundation before the college application process.
  • Students will work in a small group to explore college options, start crafting application materials, and build a strategy for the upcoming application season.
  • Includes 6 group meetings, with tailored guidance on researching colleges, preparing essay topics, building a resume, and more.
  • Includes access to CounselMore for organization and communication.

• Senior Year Application Support Cohorts
  • Tailored for 12th grade students navigating the college application process from start to finish.
  • Includes six group meetings, focusing on finalizing the college list, writing compelling essays, completing applications, and preparing for interviews and financial aid applications.
  • Includes access to CounselMore for managing assignments, communication, and materials.

For students seeking more one-on-one assistance after the cohort ends, individual support meetings can be scheduled on an as-needed basis.  

For students who need guidance on specific aspects of the college or graduate school application process, we offer hourly counseling services. These services are ideal for transfer students and graduate school applicants seeking focused, expert advice without the need for a full package.

• Transfer Student Counseling – $350/hour
  • For students planning to transfer from one institution to another, whether from community college to a four-year university or between universities.
  • Includes assistance with transfer applications, essays, navigating credit transfer policies, and financial aid applications.  

• Graduate School Application Counseling – $450/hour
  • Tailored for students applying to graduate programs in the social sciences and humanities.
  • Support includes selecting programs, preparing application materials, crafting compelling personal statements and essays, test prep strategy, and exploring funding opportunities.  

Application Review and Feedback
Cost: $250 per application

Ensure your application is polished and ready to submit with a live Zoom meeting of up to one hour. During this interactive review session, you’ll share your screen as we go through each section of your Common App, UC, or other college application together, covering everything from academics to activities and essays or Personal Insight Questions. I’ll provide on-the-spot feedback, highlight areas for improvement, and answer any questions you have, so you feel confident and prepared for submission. This collaborative review helps you put forth your strongest application.

This convenient one-time service requires no long term commitment and does not include access to CounselMore.
